Un-plugged Saturday

Last Saturday was a weekend different from the usual. It's the un-plugged day! And I had supported this event to a certain extent.

What is getting un-plugged all about? It's to help us humans increase awareness on how we all have become so dependent on all the electronic devices that we humans had invented since the great lightbulb. It's also to encourage us humans to stay out and get outdoor to appreciate and take a serious look at how the world has changed when we are being tamed by the computers.

So why did I say I had supported this event to a certain extent? Because I broke the rule by watching TV, SMS-ing, used the laptop to access Internet for a hour or two. However, I did try to force myself to stay away from the electronic devices for as long as possible.

Early in the morning, after I watched my adorable Doraemon, I set off to East Coast Park, determined to regain my lost amateur roller blading skill. Somehow I have learnt and forgot. My forgetfulness has reached a new level.

As usual, after half an hour of losing my way here, I managed to get myself to the roller blading area for the beginners. My determination is paid off well I guess, I have regained my skills to about 90%? The remaining 10% lies in braking. Yes, I can't brake.

Almost too tired to walk anymore, I actually went to Chinatown to buy some toiletries and dessert for my family. Amazing right? I thought I am too tired to walk. Furthermore, I went to Kallang to check out the price for my new glasses before going home. The power of shopping I guess, no wonder women won't find it tired, because you won't feel tired when you are shopping for your own stuffs.

Anyway the whole day is so fun! I will go back to ECP to roller blade again this coming Saturday. I need that 10% badly.

New glasses cost $250 to $300, why didn't I take good care of my eyes back then?
