One More Month
I will be passing out from BSLC in a month time. However, I am not exactly looking forward to it due to some rumours I heard about my posting after BSLC. Hope all is not true.
Well, the week was rather peaceful. I guess I have adapted to the life in SISPEC after a month of training.
I went for the Fitness Specialist(FS) Selection on Monday. Actually I am not chosen to go for the selection but Hotel allows interested SCT to go at the very last minute. Thus, I grabbed the chance and went for it.
The selection was the same as the Lifeguard Selection back in BMT, but there was no Life-Saving Back Crawl this time. Though Back Crawl is not required, I performed poorly due to my sub-standard Front Crawl. Surprisingly, I was still granted an interview.
However, I flunked the interview because I am not confidence enough and I didn't explain myself well enough. But, I am satisfied. At least I have tried my best and I have no regret.
Tuesday SOC was tough sh*t. I was physically drained at the initial rundown of 200m. Imagine the actual rundown would be 700m! I don't think I can pass SOC, let alone clearing it below 9 minutes, the unofficial requirement for FS Selection. I guess I have to train myself really hard if I still want to go FS.
Terrain Reading March was not that physically draining as expected. My section is very fortunate to have a very nice instructor who want to maximise the learning curve insead of ending the march fast. I have learnt more about navigating and heard some interesting stories as well. But, Recce is definitely not my cup of milktea!
I got Silver for my re-IPPT! I was forced to fell out from the first official IPPT due to sprained ankle and didn't manage to complete the test. But this time I have completed the test and got my S$100 Silver reward!
It was a close one because my yet-to-recover ankle nearly cause me to not passing the Silver timing for Shuttle Run. I also broke my personal chin-up record by 1, thanks to the FS who encourage me to continue pulling. However, my 2.4KM run really need some serious training. I merely pass the Silver grade by a few seconds.
Urban Operation kicked off at the wrong tune for me. I couldn't find my 11B and was late for drawing arms. But things carry on quite smoothly for me after that because my section was attached to some nice instructors, again! I was so fortunate seriously.
Back at Hotel on Friday night, everything was on a mad rush. But, I managed to find my "lost" 11B and packed up to book-out.
Now as I have done writing the events for the week, I am left with 10 hours to book-in. With incomplete tasks yet to settle, I guess it's high time for me to clear things up.
